How We Collect, Use and Share User Information

Information Collection and Use

We use the personal information we collect to provide the Service, analyse how the Service is used, diagnose the Service or technical problems, maintain security, personalise content, remember information to help you efficiently access your account, monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns, and track user content.

We gather two types of information about users:

  • 1. Non-Personally Identifiable Information:

a. When visitors use the Service, we collect and aggregate information indicating (among other things), which pages were visited, the order in which they were visited, and which links were clicked.

b. Such information is not personally identifiable.

c. We will not link this non-personally identifiable data to identifiable data we collect from you.

a. In certain areas of the Site, such as where users create an account, complete a profile (company or candidate profile), submit their CVs or Cover Letters, we request that you provide us with certain personally identifiable information, such as your email address, name, profession or work experience.

b. In such situations, we will identify which information is required and which is optional.

  • We may use information as follows:
    • Details provided by users during registration are stored by us and used to provide the Service requested:
    • § E.g. we may use email addresses provided to send users Service-related notices (including notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail), as well as marketing messages from the Site and third parties.
    • User profile data – We store email addresses and contact information etc. filled into candidate and company profiles. This information is used to provide the Service, to send marketing messages from the Site and third parties, and may also be shared with other users of the Site.
    • We may share financial information with service providers to help us with our business activities – e.g. processing credit cards.
    • If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses (but we will not share this information with other parties unless required to do so by law). This information will be retained in order to help us to provide you with the requested Service, settle any disputes between us and users of the Site, and send you marketing messages from us and third parties, but only with your consent.

How we use and share personally identifiable information

Registration Details

  • Candidates provide us with details about themselves (such as their name and email address) if they register for an account with the Site.
  • Details provided by users during registration are stored by us and used to provide the Service requested:
    • E.g. we may use email addresses provided to send users Service-related notices (including notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail).
    • Users can control receipt of certain Service-related messages on their account settings page (accessible via the dropdown list on the account login box).
    • Clarifying note: Email addresses provided by companies are used for:
      • Logging into their account.
      • Passing on candidate details.
      • Sending you Service-related notices.
      • Addresses provided by companies remain private, and are not made available to other visitors to the Site.

Email Correspondence

  • If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses (but we will not share this information with other parties unless required to do so by law).
  • Email correspondence will be retained for as long as it is necessary to address the issues raised by your correspondence.

Employer Profiles

  • Employers’ names and other information you choose to add to your profile will be available for public viewing on the Site.
  • In submitting in this information, where permitted by applicable law, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide sub-licensable license to make use of anything you submit to the Site.

Candidate Profiles

  • When you complete your candidate profile, all information provided in this manner can be made available for searching and viewing over the internet (butnot downloading) by any employer who registers for the candidate profile service. We cannot provide absolute verification of the identity or nature of the business of such organisations.
  • You should only post information to your profiles if you wish such information to be viewed by employers.
  • You can choose to prevent employers from accessing your profile and personal details at any time by logging into your account and changing your account settings.
  • Your current employer may be a user of the Site. We cannot restrict the employers who access profiles on our database and cannot be held responsible for any eventuality.
  • If you choose to upload details to a profile, we rely upon you to ensure that your details are kept up to date. You may log in at any time to update your profile.
  • We reserve the right to remove from our database any content which we consider to be illegal or offensive and block the user from further use by cancelling his or her account.

Job Applications and Application History

  • With regards to job applications, you choose which information you want to share with employers via your application – you remain solely responsible for the information that you post.
  • When you apply online, we store some information about your applications on their ‘Application History’ page (e.g. CV, Cover Letter, answers to set questions etc.), but this is protected by your account password and can only be accessed by you. It does not form part of your profile and cannot be searched or accessed by employers. You can delete your application history at any time.
  • Your application details are also stored on employers’ accounts via the candidate management page. This information is protected by the employer’s account password and may only be accessed by the employer. Employers are not permitted to make this information public.

Financial information

  • Financial information provided by you will only be used to help you complete a transaction – to enable you to purchase products or access the Service via the Site.
  • We may share financial information with service providers to help us with our business activities – e.g. processing credit cards.

Users’ Choice About Their Information

  • You may decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Site, in which case we may not be able to provide certain services to you.
  • You may update your account details and email preferences at any time by logging into your account.

Children’s Privacy

  • We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from minors or knowingly allow minors to register with the Site.
  • If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor without verification or parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information and terminate the account.
  • We will not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes without your express consent.
  • How we use and share non-personally identifiable information
  • We use non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form, including via Google Analytics, to build higher quality, more useful services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our visitors and users, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Site.

Information Protection and Security

  • We use commercially reasonable physical, managerial and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and safety of your information. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information.
  • However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Thus, we cannot, ensure or warrant the security of any information users transmit to us or guarantee that information or the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of our physical, managerial or technical safeguards.
  • In the event that your personal information is compromised following a security breach, and it is reasonably likely that you may suffer harm as a result, we will promptly notify you, in accordance with the notification procedures set forth in this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Information Disclosure

  • · We may share your personal information with selected third parties including:
    • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you.
    • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Site.
  • · We may disclose your personal information in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

Third Party Services

  • We may use Google Analytics to help understand use of the Service. Google Analytics collects the (non-personally identifiable) information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including cookies and your IP address. Google Analytics also receive this information and their use of it is governed by their privacy policy.
  • We may use Mandrill to manage correspondence with users of the Site. Mandrill collect the information we share with them (both personally andnon-personally identifiable information), and their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • We may also use Intercom to communicate with users of the Site. Intercom gathers various types of personal information about our users, and their use of this information is governed by their privacy policy.
  • We may use Mixpanel to track user activity on the Site. Mixpanel collects personally identifiable information we share with them, and their use of this data is governed by their privacy policy.
  • We use an audience intelligence platform called AddThis to provide social sharing buttons on the Site. AddThis only collects personally identifiable information that you provide to them, and make this personal information available only to the people to whom you send or share content via the AddThis sharing buttons (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). AddThis does not use your personal information for targeted advertising purposes and does not combine it with any of the non-personally identifiable information it collects. However, AddThis may use the non-personallyidentifiable information it collects for targeted advertising and analytics purposes. Tracking Technologies


  • Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by websites you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information about web traffic to the operators of a website.
  • Cookies convey anonymous information about users to us, but do not collect personal information about you.

  • Share buttons: The Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn share buttons we use on the Site to allow you to share your content on social media websites are hosted by AddThis. Your browser therefore sends your cookie data to AddThis when creating the button inside your browser. AddThis uses your cookie data to provideus with web analytics services relating to the Site, as well as for online ad targeting purposes. Log files

We may automatically log aggregate information, such as a your IP address, domain name, browser type, date and time of access, and other log file data. This information may be used to analyze trends or administer the Site.

Links to Third Party Sites

  • The Site may provide links to other websites or resources over which we do not have control. Such links do not constitute an endorsement by us of these external websites.
  • We are not responsible for the content of such external websites. Once you leave the Site this Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your use of these external sites is subject to the terms of use & privacy policies located on these external sites.


Where we store your personal information

  • We store your personal information on a secure server located in the United Kingdom, and do not transfer this data outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA") at present. However, our plans may change in future. By accepting this Privacy Policy, you agree to transfers and storage of your personal information at a destination outside the EEA. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with applicable laws.

Data Retention

  • We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or is needed to provide you with the Service.

This information will be retained to help us provide you with the requested Service, to occasionally send you marketing messages from us or from third parties, and to settle any disputes between us and users of the Site.
  • We will not store CVs and cover letters submitted as part of the application process.
  • We will retain personally identifiable data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose(s) for which the data was originally collected .
  • You may remove any information we store about you (at any time) by logging in and closing your account.


  • We offer a publicly accessible blog, where you may comment on blog posts if desired.
  • You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access these areas.
  • To request removal of your personally identifiable information from our blog or community forum, please contact our legal team at
  • In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personally identifiable information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.


  • We post testimonials from both candidates and employers who have used the Service on the Site which may contain personally identifiable information. We do obtain consent by email or a release agreement prior to posting the testimonial to post your (candidate, company or company employee) name along with your testimonial.

Privacy Policy Updates

  • We may need to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If this is the case and if we make any material changes to the Privacy Policy on the Site, we will notify registered users via email and will update the “last updated” section of the Privacy Policy.
  • If any modification is unacceptable to you, you should stop using the Site and delete your account. If you do not stop using the Site, you will be deemed to have accepted the change.
